Solar AC, geyser, lights, pumps and fans: how to power each one.
A solar street light has to run every night without wiring. The battery, the panel and the pole decide whether it works on night 300 as well as night one.

A solar street light is a lamp, a solar panel, a battery and a controller. In an all-in-one light, all four are built into one unit that mounts on a pole. In a split light, the panel and the battery are mounted separately.
All-in-one lights are simple to fit. You mount the unit and switch it on. They suit gates, lanes and car parks. Split lights allow a larger panel and battery, so they suit long routes and busy roads.
The labels on these lights often claim large numbers. This page shows which numbers to ask about.
Prices are per light, and exclude the pole and its foundation unless stated.

Put these questions to any seller. Ask for the answers in writing.
| Number | What it tells you | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| LED power in watts | How bright the lamp is | Real watts, not a peak figure |
| Light output in lumens | The true brightness | Stated on the datasheet, not just in the name |
| Battery type and capacity | How long it runs | A stated chemistry, and capacity in Wh |
| Panel watts | How fast it recharges | Enough to recover after poor sun |
| Run time after cloud | Nights it can run with no sun | At least a stated number of nights |
| IP rating | Dust and water protection | A stated rating suited to rain and dust |
| Controller | Dusk-to-dawn, dimming, motion sensor | Settings you can change |
The most common fault is the battery. Cheap lights fit a small battery and describe it in vague words. It loses capacity within a year or two, and the light starts to dim or switch off early at night.
A second fault is an oversize label. A light marked 200 W may use a small LED chip and a small panel, and the number describes a peak or a claim, not a real output.
Ask for the capacity of the battery in watt-hours and the size of the panel in watts. Then compare the lights on those numbers, not on the label on the box.
The place matters as much as the product.
A light that works on a clear day proves little. Ask what the light delivers after a cloudy or hazy day, and how many nights the battery can carry it. Humidity near 61 percent and monsoon cloud in July and August make this a real question in Karachi.
Short answers. For your own property, send us your electricity bill and roof details.
Ask on WhatsAppIt depends on the wattage, the battery and the pole. Send the size and the number of lights you need and we will quote it.
The LED can last many years. The battery usually wears out first, so ask about its type and warranty.
At a lower level. Ask for the number of nights the battery can carry it with no sun.
Sometimes. The pole must carry the weight and the wind load. Send us a photo and we will advise.
Tell us the height and the quantity you need and we will quote it.
