Canadian Solar was founded in Ontario, Canada, in 2001, and it sells panels worldwide. The company lists factories in Canada, China, Brazil and Southeast Asia, so the country of origin differs from panel to panel. The label on the box and on the back of each panel shows where yours was made.
Buyers in Karachi often ask for the brand because of its long history in the industry. The brand alone does not tell you the price or the quality of a specific panel. The model, the wattage and the paperwork do.

How a warranty claim really works
Two warranties come with a panel. Knowing the path before you buy saves a lot of trouble later.

Find the warrantor
The warranty comes from the manufacturer. In practice you deal with the Pakistani importer or distributor, or with the seller. Ask which one, and get it in writing.

Keep the paperwork
Keep the invoice with the model name, the serial numbers and the date. A claim without the serial number is hard to prove.

Report a fault early
A cracked cell or a dead string should be reported at once with photos. Do not clean up or repair the panel before the claim.

Ask about replacement
Ask whether a replacement is a new panel or a refurbished one, and how long it takes. A panel out of service for weeks costs you output.
Checks on the box and the label
These checks apply to any brand, but they matter more when a name is popular enough to be copied.
- The model on the box, the label and the datasheet must match.
- The serial number should be printed on the label and readable.
- The country of origin on the label should be stated clearly.
- The glass and frame should be free of chips, bends and cracks.
- The seller should give an invoice that names the model and shows tax.
Tier-1 does not mean guaranteed quality
Some sellers say a brand is Tier-1. That term usually refers to a bankability list that financiers use, and it measures a company's financial strength and track record. It is not a quality test of the panel in your box. You still need to check the datasheet and the paperwork.
Pricing it properly
Divide the price of one panel by its rated watts to get the price per watt. A quote for Rs 30,000 on a 500 W panel works out to Rs 60 per watt. Use that single number to compare Canadian Solar with any other brand. The price per watt guide shows the method in more detail.
Imported panels carry 10 percent sales tax, and June 2026 reports said the 2026-27 budget left that rate unchanged. Make sure the invoice shows it.
How warranty claims work with us
If a part fails under warranty, we file the claim with the brand and replace the part once the brand approves it. The time depends on the brand's approval. Repairs under warranty are done by the brand. All other after-sales service is done by us.
