Solar Panels
Panel brands, wattage, price per watt and what suits Karachi conditions.
One number makes panel quotes comparable. This page shows how to work it out, and where a low rate can hide extra costs.

Price per watt is the price of one panel divided by its rated watts. That is the whole formula. It turns a list of panels in different sizes into one fair comparison.
People in Karachi often ask for the 'rate' of a panel. The rate can mean the price of the panel or the price per watt, and sellers use both. Always say which one you mean.
The numbers below are examples to show the method. They are not prices.
These figures are invented round numbers to show the arithmetic.
| Panel | Example price | Rated watts | Price per watt |
|---|---|---|---|
| Panel A | Rs 30,000 | 500 W | Rs 60 |
| Panel B | Rs 36,000 | 600 W | Rs 60 |
| Panel C | Rs 33,000 | 550 W | Rs 60 |
| Panel D | Rs 27,500 | 500 W | Rs 55 |
Panels A, B and C cost different amounts but the same per watt. Panel D is cheaper per watt only if the quality and warranty match.
A lower rate per watt is attractive, but it only helps if the other details are equal. Check these before you pick the lowest number.
A panel of lower grade can lose output faster, and the loss shows up over the years, not on the day you buy. A short or unclear warranty makes this risk worse.
A panel with a poor temperature coefficient gives up more output in the heat. Karachi has an average daily maximum near 35.7°C in May and June, so this matters here more than in a cooler city.
Do this with any set of quotes, including ours.
Brand, model, wattage, number of panels and total price.
Total panel price divided by total panel watts, so a system with nine 585 W panels uses 5,265 W.
Note whether tax, structure, cable and installation are included. Add anything left out.
Datasheet, warranty terms and who honours them.
The lowest total with equal quality and equal inclusions is the real winner.
You can also divide the full installed price of a system by its kilowatts. It is a rough check, because system price includes the inverter, the structure and the labour. It helps you spot a quote that is far out of line, but the panel-only figure is the cleaner comparison.
Panel prices in Pakistan follow the dollar rate, shipping cost and stock at the port. Taxes matter too. Imported panels carry a 10 percent sales tax, and reports in June 2026 said the 2026-27 budget kept it unchanged.
That is why a rate you saw last month may not hold. Ask for the date of any price list, and read our 585 W panel guide for the size most buyers choose.

Ask on WhatsAppIt changes with the dollar rate and stock, so we quote on the day. Compare the same figure across quotes for panels of similar grade and warranty.
Divide the price of one panel by its rated watts. A Rs 30,000 panel of 500 W costs Rs 60 per watt.
Often, but not always. Compare the figure for each model and do not assume.
No, not when you quote a panel alone. Ask what a full system includes before you compare totals.
