Buying Solar
How to buy solar in Karachi: genuine panels, invoices, warranties and used equipment.
Online listings make comparing easy and checking hard. Here are the risks, and a list of checks that protect your money.

Online listings show prices, photos and models in one place. That makes it easy to compare. The catch is that a listing is a promise from a stranger, and a solar panel is a heavy, fragile, expensive item that is hard to send back.
You can buy safely online, but the checks have to come before the payment. After the payment, your options are few.
The common problems, and what to do about each.
| Risk | How it shows up | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| Fake or misleading listing | Photos of a famous brand, cheap price, vague model | Ask for the exact model code and the datasheet |
| Wrong wattage | Panel marked 600 W is really a lower class | Check the label against the datasheet on delivery |
| Damage in transit | Cracked glass, bent frame | Inspect with the courier present and photograph |
| Grey-market stock | No maker's labels, no local warranty | Ask for the warranty paper and who honours it |
| Payment fraud | Advance to a personal account, then silence | Pay only to a business account that matches the invoice |
| No after-sales help | The seller cannot be reached | Choose a seller with an address and a phone number |
Run through these in order.
A business with a premises you can visit is safer than one with only a social media page.
Then check it against the manufacturer's datasheet.
Include delivery, tax and any handling fee. A price that excludes tax is not the final price.
Who files a claim, who repairs, and how long approval can take.
You should be able to open the boxes and check them before the courier leaves.
Save the listing, the chat, the invoice and the payment receipt.
A pallet of panels is only one part. You still need a matching inverter, a frame, cable, protection and a safe installation. Buying parts from different places can leave you with pieces that do not fit together, and no one responsible for the result.
Panels should travel upright, in their own cartons, and be stacked and strapped with care. A panel that is stored flat under weight or dropped at the kerb can develop cracks you cannot see. Micro-cracks reduce output over time and may not show on day one.
Check the carton for crush marks, and ask for a record of the condition on delivery. Do not sign for a pallet you have not looked at.
