Solar Systems
System sizes, what a full quote includes and how to size from your bill.
A small system suits a small load. Here is what a 1 kW or 2 kW system can run, and where it makes sense.

A 1 kW or 2 kW system suits a flat, a portion of a house or a small shop with a modest load. Its main job is usually backup: it keeps the lights, fans, fridge and router running in a cut, and trims the bill a little.
It does not run a large air conditioner. If you want that, look at the 3 to 6 kW range in our system size guide.
Small systems are easy to get wrong in the other direction. Buying a cheap inverter and weak batteries to save money leaves you with a system that fails in the first hot summer. The details below help you avoid that.
These are complete installed systems. The final price depends on the brands, the battery and the roof.
| Item | Detail | Price (PKR) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 kW system | 2 panels of 585 W, with backup | Rs 225,000 floor-mounted / Rs 265,000 raised |
| 2 kW system | 3 or 4 panels, with backup | Rs 300,000 floor-mounted / Rs 350,000 raised |

Planning figures using the range of 4 to 5 units per kW per day. Output depends on shading, tilt, dust and season.
| Panels of 585 W | Array size | Daily output | Roof area |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 panels | 1.17 kW | 4.7 to 5.9 units | About 5 m² |
| 3 panels | 1.76 kW | 7.0 to 8.8 units | About 8 m² |
| 4 panels | 2.34 kW | 9.4 to 11.7 units | About 10 m² |
Approximate running watts. Read the labels on your own appliances.
| Appliance | Number | Approximate watts |
|---|---|---|
| Ceiling fan | 3 | About 180 W together |
| LED bulb | 5 | About 50 W together |
| Refrigerator | 1 | About 150 W running |
| Television | 1 | About 100 W |
| Router | 1 | About 15 W |
| Total | About 500 W |
Five hours of this load is about 2.5 kWh, so a small lithium battery covers it. An air conditioner would more than double the load.
The parts are small, so the details matter more.
Small systems can still be connected to the grid through a K-Electric application. A PPIB pre-qualified vendor files it, and we are not one. Under net billing, a small system sized for your own use is the sensible design. Read our net billing guide before you decide.

Ask on WhatsAppA few fans, lights, a TV, a router and a small fridge. It does not run a large air conditioner.
Three or four 585 W panels, giving 1.76 to 2.34 kW depending on the layout.
A small inverter AC may run by day if the inverter allows, but it will use most of the system. Check the AC label and ask for a survey.
A commonly used planning figure is 4 to 5 units per kW per day, so roughly 7 to 11 units for 1.76 to 2.34 kW of panels.
For backup and a modest bill cut, yes. For a large bill, a bigger system makes more difference.
